It is finally time turn toward one of the most powerful and revealing dimensions of evolutionary astrology: the LUNAR NODES.
If the Sun, Moon, and Ascendant give us the core triad of personality and life path, the nodal axis gives us something deeper still. What Steven Forrest so beautifully calls “the chart behind the chart.” Here we glimpse the soul’s underlying storyline: the patterns that come naturally, the familiar ground we know how to inhabit, the gifts we bring with us and also the unfinished karma still asking for consciousness, courage and choice.
In this workshop, we will explore both South Node and North Node by sign, house and aspect, along with something I find especially important: the rulers of the nodes — their sign, house, and aspects — as essential clues to the deeper architecture of the soul’s journey.
This is not about inventing dramatic past-life stories or forcing symbolic material into literal narratives that do not necessarily resonate. Rather, it is about reading the nodal axis with care, humility and depth. The South Node often shows where we are already highly skilled, instinctive, practiced. Where there is real inheritance, real competence, real memory. But if it still remains active karma, then something there is not yet complete. Something in that familiar territory still asks to be understood, untangled, refined or released. We pay special attention to the conjunctions and squares.
And then there is the North Node, not as a place of instant mastery, but as a guiding star. A beckoning point. A path of soul growth that asks us to stretch beyond what is easy, automatic or well-rehearsed. The ruler of the North Node tells us even more about how that path unfolds in lived experience.
This workshop is for those who want to pull the larger story together. To step back and see the arc beneath the details, the meaning beneath the mechanics. Even if we have touched on the nodes throughout the series, this is our chance to place them front and center and recognize just how central they are to the evolutionary astrological journey.
In many ways, this is where the heart of the work reveals itself.

How am I qualified to guide you?
I’m a holistic healer, evolutionary astrologer, and founder of Sowela Holistic. My work is grounded in decades of study, a life of spiritual inquiry, and a chart that has asked me to live every cycle I teach.
Since my 'astrological awakening' in 2008, I have learned from over 200 books in astrology (not to mention countless books on related topics) from Jungian archetypes to Buddhist psychology, narrative therapy and IFS / Internal Family Systems and beyond. I have studied with a broad spectrum of astrological schools: Ingrid Naiman's Astrology of Healing (2016) Glenn Perry's Academy of AstroPsychology (2017), Kira Sutherland's Astrology of Health (2020), Daniel Giamario's Shamanic Astrology Mystery School (2023) and Debra Silverman Astrology (2024). I started studying in person with Steven Forrest in 2008 and am currently engaged in certification studies at the Forrest Center for Evolutionary Astrology. I walk with people through their own transformations because I have walked through many of my own. I’ve lived the Saturn returns, the Uranus oppositions, the Pluto squares. I’m now in the third act of life, with my progressed Sun in Pisces on the Descendant completing the powerful Pluto, Moon and Mercury placements on the other three angles. Each moment deepens my devotion to healing, truth and soul guidance. Every planet in my chart echoes my calling: to turn pain into purpose, story into soul medicine.

I don’t know if it was Laura or astrology that took me by storm. But I almost immediately recognized Laura as one of those rare people with whom I felt I could have an endless conversation, expanding as far inward as outward.
